Although we've tagged nsfw content using Western notions and terms, we would like to note that conversations regarding the nature of consent in MDZS should consider the fact that modern Chinese culture, both in and out of danmei, is dealing with this in ways that are vastly different from Western notions of consent due to differing cultural perspectives on appropriate conduct, both sexual and non-sexual, as well as morality.
To put this bluntly, imposing specific and biased Western notions of consent on fundamentally non-Western works is essentially a form of imperialism born out of racism, as hunxi-guilai discusses in this post, and we would request that you not do this.
Furthermore, what you may have read as dub-con or non-con could be due to the phrasing used in the translations you have read. Unless you can read Chinese, it is highly unlikely that you can grasp the specifics of exactly what occurred during such scenes. We will do our best to thoroughly explain them in our translation, but just be aware of this.
If you want to read more about this particular issue, three--rings on tumblr has written an excellent set of meta about it here.
Hence, though we have tagged for dub-con and non-con (both sexual and non-sexual) in here, that does not mean that we believe that all the actions in question were inherently dub-con or non-con.
